About Libby

“I have always loved taking photos as far as back as I can remember.

As a budding young photographer I used to borrow my father’s 35mm film camera, so that whenever he came to use it there was no film left! My parents then bought me a pocket compact camera, which I had for a few years until I obtained a Nikon 35mm SLR camera.

I always vowed that I would never go digital … that was until I bought my Canon G5! … and then a Nikon D200 Digital SLR!

Having decided to follow the rest of the flock I thought it was great. I found that I could take thousands of photographs, and if they didn’t turn out very well - I could just wipe them off the memory card and start snapping again!

Having been brought up on a farm, and now continuing to live in the countryside, I enjoy photographing birds and animals in their natural surroundings.

I also enjoy taking candid shots, as they show a person behaving naturally – rather than posing or trying to look respectable.

At a wedding a candid shot helps to capture the feel of the day, as people just carry on normally when they aren’t expecting to be photographed.

Parties, get-togethers and special occasions are good for me to practice and explore new ideas, and also allow me to take some great pictures, whether inside or out, because of the wide variety of lighting conditions.

I have recently taken a photograph of a tractor to go on the wheel cover of a works vehicle which I liked as it was something different and a fun learning experience.

As you may have noticed I like to have a go at anything and everything. I’m always up for a challenge.

Hopefully you will have liked what you have seen. Not everything will be to your taste, but if everyone all liked the same thing it would be a very boring world!
